Smudge has been sick for over a year now so we were expecting the end to be near, she was 19 after all. To be honest we were surprised she got through summer.
What we didn't expect to find seemingly healthy Minstral (Minnie)dead in one of her favourite spots (the dining room table) on the 3rd of March. She was 15 and hadn't lost her "winter condition" over summer as she usually did. She was actively mousing up until the end. I miss her heaps. She was an Australian Mist cross, a really cuddle lap cat and my near constant companion. RIP Min
Last week Smudge pretty much stopped eating. We agonised over the desision over the weekend and I made the call to the vet on Monday. She went down hill very fast on Monday. She had taken a slow walk around the section on Sunday and even eaten but by lunchtime on Monday (23th March) she couldn't stand under her own steam. She passed away at the vets in my husband's arms. She was a one person cat he was her person.
Sally is now sticking very close to home.
To top it off one of the 3 gold fish (Nemo) went belly up as well and I had to bury it yesterday.
