Our Rowdy is a neutered tomcat, at about 2 years old, he spends most of the day outdoors. He is very social, loves his cuddles and playing with other cats. He is also, as we found out, a great kittensitter. In July, one of the stray cats in our estate who we feed abandoned her two kittens, when she became pregnant again. Rowdy took care of them, brought them into our house to have them feed, play with them and took care of them outside as well. Every morning you'd see Rowdy and his entourage strolling through the garden. We managed to find nice families for the two kittens and though they were born feral to a feral cat, they do really OK. Right now the stray cat's sister, who also had had her kittens about 12 weeks ago started weening them off. The rumour that our Rowdy is a great nanny must have spread because she brought the kittens to our house as well. Guess what - the little kitten is right now playing with Rowdy's toys with Rowdy patiently watching. Now, I'd believe that female cats have maternal instincts but a neutered tom cat? Also, if this goes on like that, we might think about opening a kittengarden |
Owned by Rowdy the cat - nomen est omen! Have a great party at the bridge, my heavenly gang : Jerry, Bruce, Richie, Luci, Arwen, Jessie and Cindy. You took a piece of our hearts with you. Spidie, you'll never be forgotten. |
