Sorry if this seems scattered but i have posted all over and still can't seem to get any real definitive answers!

And NO I did not breed her! She is a rescue!
She appears to have kittens moving in her abdomen and has a slight "sag" to her belly in the last 24 hours. Though she is not "huge". She has a big appetite and has put on a LOT of weight since I got her as she was VERY thin. I was told the previous owner thought she was pregnant. She is acting normal except that today she will lay down flat on her belly with her hind legs spread and then she pushes her but back like shes pushing.....she doesn't keep it up just pushes it up and her stomach pulls in like shes pushig then it goes down. But she also"marches" her back feet. She has been licking herself a lot.....And I can feel a "lump" in her abdomen but sometimes I can't find it. She is either in labor with only one kitten or in heat which is it?? Anyone know anything thats a bit more sure? her nipples are swollen too but as of right now she is resting in a basket.....if she was in heat wouldn't her behavior be more constant??

When a cat is in heat they do what I like to call a "crab walk". Bascially it is what you have explained. Is she also vocal while she is doing this? When they are in heat they do not behave this way all the time. It is periodic while they are shedding the eggs. Once she is done shedding the eggs she will stop this behaviour. She will start again anywhere from 1 week to 3 weeks from when she stops. She will never actually go out of heat until she is spayed.

The only way to tell for sure if she is pregnant or not is to take her to a vet and have them check her out.
