It is important to be absolutely sure in the identification of any plant before feeding to a gerbil. If there is any doubt "leave it out".

Plants and flowers that are safe to feed a gerbil are:

• Dandelion
• Yarrow

The following should not be fed as they are poisonous to gerbils:

• Black nightshade
• Buttercups
• Clematis
• Daffodil
• Deadly nightshade
• Hemlock
• Hydrangea
• Ivy
• Laburnum
• Laurel
• Oleander
• Poinsettia
• Rhododendron
• Yew
• Yucca
