Coat types can be combined with any colour or coat pattern.

Short Haired: The coat is short and smooth.

Abyssinian: The coat is short with prominent whorls in the coat, referred to as rosettes.

Rex: The coat is short and coarse and lifted from the body and the whiskers are curled.

Sheltie: Also referred to as "Silkie", the coat is smooth and long.

Peruvian: A long haired Abbysinian - the coat is long and parted down the centre of the back, with the hair falling forward over the face.

Texel: A long coated rex. The coat is long and coarse with slight waves and the whiskers are curled.

Satin: The coat has a deep shine.
