The Rex appeared in the UK in 1999. The coat is soft and curled and lifts away from the body. The whiskers are extremely curly. The first rexes to appear had sparse coats but this has been improved with thicker coats emerging.

The Rex can be combined with any colour or coat pattern to produce Argente Rex, Mottled Rex, etc.
